Tamil Canadians to organize blood drive with Canada Blood Services in commemoration of Tamil Genocide Month
Toronto, Canada – On Friday May 17, 2013, The National Council of Canadian Tamils (NCCT) will be holding a blood drive. This blood drive will be held at the Canada Kanthasamy Temple Hall (733 Birchmount Rd Ontario M1K 1R5), between 3 pm to 8pm.
“We are organizing this blood drive to remember the 75,000 innocent lives lost during the final stage of the war in May 2009 in Sri Lanka,” said Demison Alwin, Coordinator of the blood drive. “During the month of May, Tamils everywhere engage themselves in charitable activities promoting the values of democracy, human dignity, and equality that we value as Canadians,” said Mr. Demison.
NCCT calls on the Tamil community and the broader Canadian society to generously give blood on Friday May 17, 2013.
